Armed Black Hawk Video

Promotional video highlighting the attack capabilities of the UH-60a/l Black Hawk series of helicopters. With the External Stores Support System (ESSS) installed, the Black Hawk can carry an impressive array of air to ground weapons, including Hellfires, rockets and cannon pods. As this video demonstrates, the Black Hawk can actually deploy a larger amount of ordinance than the AH-64 Apache. What the video fails to point out is that the Black Hawk lacks both the armour and dedicated sensors found on gunships such as the Apache or Ah-1W Cobra, which make them a more suitable platform for direct attack missions. The 160th Special Operation Aviation Regiment (SOAR) aside, most US Army Black Hawks stick to their primary role of hauling troops and supplies and their ESSS pylons are more likely to carry fuel tanks than weapons.
