A United States Marine Corps MV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft assigned to Golden Eagles of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 162 takes off from the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde. The MV-22b Osprey is the Marine Corps variant of the V-22 and will be replacing the CH-46E and CH-53D medium-lift helicopters within the USMC fleet.
