MI-24 Hind F
MI-24 Hind F parked up on the flight-line. The Hind-F variant got rid of the 4-barrel steerable 12.7mm gatling gun from the chin turret in favor of a twin-barrelled 30mm cannon fixed along the right fuselage (the barrels of which can just be seen emerging by the forward canopy). This change was instigated following lessons learned in Afghanistan, where the 12.7mm was felt to be inadequate for air-to-ground engagements.
