MH-53J Pave Low III - SEAL fast-rope

US Air Force (USAF) MH-53J Pave Low III of the 20th Special Operations Squadron hovers above a vessel as US Navy SEAL commandos fast-rope from its belly-hatch during an exercise. Note the crew-chief peering out of the Pave Low's rear ramp, helping to ensure that the large helicopter avoids the array of masts sticking up from the ship. Another crew-chief will be monitoring the belly-hatch, ready to drop the rope when the last SEAL is safely on the deck. The pilot, co-pilot and all crew-chiefs are connected by a closed-circuit intercom that enables them to communicate and work together as a team.
