MH-53J Pave Low III - Ladder Extraction

US Air Force (USAF) MH-53J Pavelow III of the US Air Force 31st Special Operations Squadron (SOS), Kadena Air Base, Japan, extracts troops via a ropeladder lowered from the rear ramp. This technique allows the helicopter to extract men from locations where it cannot land such as uneven ground, swamp land or even out over water.
