HH-60G Pave Hawk - Refueling

HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter from the 56th Rescue Squadron prepares to undergo air-to-air refueling from a MC-130p Hercules tanker aircraft. Pave Hawks carry telescopic refueling probes that connect to one of the 2 drogues trailed from the tanker. The Hercules has to fly low and close to its stall speed in order for the helicopters to link up. This difficult operation greatly extends the operational range of the helicopters.
