AH-64A Apache - Desert Shield
US Army AH-64A Apache takes off from a Saudi airbase during the 1990/91 Operation Desert Shield. When the defensive Desert Shield became the offensive Desert Storm, Apaches were amongst the first aircraft into the fight. A flight of Apache gunships destroyed key Iraq air defence radars in Southern Iraq, paving the way for the allied air assault that soon followed.
